THE CHARACTER AND THE GLORY OF GOD
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. Hab 3:3
It is a manifestation of lack of integrity if people have to follow you up before you can do the right thing. If the glory of God must be seen, it must come on the platform of His holiness. So, the glory of God is connected to the holiness of God. Anyone who wants to experience a new dimension of glory must exhibit a new degree of character. Heaven is full of glory because Heaven is full of God’s holiness. Heaven is filled with the Glory of God because It is filled with the character of God. Since character is very important for glory to manifest, what is character?
1. Character is saying ‘No’ to wrong and ‘Yes’ to right at any cost. The Bible in Daniel 1:8 says, ‘But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.’ Michael Josephson said, ‘Character is doing the right thing even when it costs more than you are willing to pay.’ Beloveth if you must Matter in Life, you must posses the right Character. Because Character is one major secret behind people who Matter in Life and Eternity.
2. Character is existing to do the right thing without external supervision or oversight. In other words, you are not doing the right thing because somebody is encouraging you to do it; you are doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do. Character is the realm of self-supervision and self-oversight. It is living above the realm of ‘eye-service’. It is a manifestation of lack of integrity if people have to follow you up before you can do the right thing. Knowledge will give you Power, but Character will give you Respect.
Evaluate your life for areas of character deficiency. Take deliberate steps to shape those identified areas. And go to God in Prayers saying, Help me Lord, to be like You in character and integrity at any cost, in Jesus’ Name.
