A sound mental well-being is an important aspect of personality development. There are many ways to achieve this and being optimistic is one among them. They become more realistic rather than just keeping it in your mind.

You can start by listing down the affirmative statements you can think of, and then apply them in verbal context during conversations or even when praising yourself. Doing this will gradually transition your paradigm into a more positive approach and you will begin to see things on a brighter side all the time. In the long run, it will become a mental habit.
